# Alpha Release

You'll have full and perpetual access, you just need to activate the license.\
\
Alpha testers can join a private Discord and help me break the software. There are 50 seats in total and these seats will be available until 0.3.X. After this you'll continue to get upgrades and I'll keep the Discord open, but there'll be no new testers coming in.\
\
I'm doing this on a lightweight "earn to keep" approach, to continue to get upgrades beyond 0.X you'll need to have done at least one of the following:
* Submit a bug report on Discord / crash the software and submit a BugSplat
* Complete a feedback survey / provide feedback on Discord
* Post (something nice) publicly (social media etc.)\
 \
 Hopefully this seems fair!

Please note: in the event of an alpha tester **not engaging** **at all** during the alpha stage, I reserve the right to revoke that license.

### Activation

###

#### First launch

On first launch, MIDI Mimic opens on the Activation page, enter your key here (this will be emailed to you shortly after purchase)\
#### Transferring to a new machine

Your licence is locked to the machine it's activated on, but you can transfer it:

1. On your current machine, go to Activation and click **Deactivate**
2. On your new machine, enter the same licence key
3. The licence is now active on the new machine

{% hint style="info" %}
Activation and Deactivation requires an internet connection - a grace period is on the roadmap but for now please ensure you're not at the end of your trial before a gig!
{% endhint %}
